The
rough weather overnight really didn’t appear except for about an hour of slight
bumps. Most of the group slept right
through it and thought it was a very smooth sail. Most of them were exhausted from being up the
night before with bumps and creaks!
Another
day with sun and temps in the 80’s but the humidity has decreased to the mid
60’s which makes it a bit more comfortable to be outside. The pools are getting a lot of use these days
and people are out very early in the morning staking their claims on loungers!
The
group got together for a picture of the whole bunch of us (+ or – a few). Anyway, the majority showed up for a group
shot. I stayed long enough for one
picture then had to run back to Edna and Les who were holding down the fort at
trivia! Good thing because we were first
once again! We had to share first with
another team and lost the tie breaker for the crappy prized but a first is a
first!! We’ll take it! The question that would have put us alone in
first was: What was the name of Julia
Roberts’ character in “Notting Hill”?
Drove me bonkers because it was on this tip of my tongue and I never
came up with it!! BTW, it was Anna Scott!!
Some of these questions are just plain bizarre! The afternoon session was a mess and we came
in third L!!
Fun
dinner this evening in the dining room!
We were at our favorite table for 10 with Betty and Don, Michele and
Tom, Molly and Jim and Dan and Kathy.
Lots of laughs and the Head Waiter even had time to amuse us with wine
glass tricks! Remind the above folks to
show you the trick with a wine glass and a straw!! The waiter had more time this evening as well
and told a very funny story about a woman who asked one of the Romanian waiters
where he slept at night. He replied that
every evening at 11pm helicopters fly the wait staff off the ship to sleep
ashore and then they bring them all back in the morning! The next day the woman was at the Purser’s
desk ranting and raving about getting her money back for the cruise because she
was getting no sleep with all the noise of the helicopters!! Our waiter, Silviu, mentioned the waiter was
fired but I’m not sure if it was because of this tall tale! Fun to hear and funnier to watch him tell the
story!
Tomorrow
we anchor off the town of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. It’s supposed to be one of the best surf
spots in the country. The Commodore and
a small group will go on an all day tour to Lake Nicaragua and some see some
sights along the way. They’ll visit a
few places and have lunch. It will be a
full day and they won’t be back to the ship till 4pm and they leave at
7am. They’ll be hot and tired! Since this will be a tender port I will,
again, stay on board.
Since
the laundry facilities were fixed today I will pay a visit to the laundry room
since I’ll have it to myself! The
Commodore was happy to get his underwear back today and didn’t have to play the
sniff and recycle game!!!
The casino was very good to us tonight! Commodore up and so am I!!! Sat down for 10 minutes and walked away with $105!
Ok, you
are mostly caught up!
XOXOXOXOX

You needed Brian on that Anna Scott question! Weird tie breaker question though.
ReplyDeleteI can't even believe the waiter story. Gotta be a tall tale!
